Mayor’s Message – May 2026
5/4/2026
Huntsville Residents,
Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent town cleanup. Our community continues to show up and step up, and together we made great progress in the park.
We also hosted the 7th Annual Huntsville Grand Prix on May 2. This is always a fun event, and we are especially grateful to the organizers for donating 100% of the entry fee proceeds to the Town.
We have several special events coming up and hope you will join us:
• May 25, 2026 – Memorial Day Celebration at Huntsville Cemetery Traffic and parking details are outlined below. Please check the Town website and your email for updates as the event approaches.
• July 3–4, 2026 – America 250 Independence Day Celebration We look forward to celebrating this milestone together as a community.
American Legion Post 129 Memorial Day Celebration
May 25, 2026 12:00 pm Huntsville Cemetery
Because access to the cemetery is often limited on Memorial Day, the Weber County Sheriff’s Office will once again provide an escorted convoy for residents and American Legion participants.
The deputy led convoy will depart Compass Rose Lodge at 11:45 am.
Procession Details:
• 11:30 – 11:40 am The WCSO lead escort vehicle will stage on 200 South, on the north side of the park heading west, just east of the driveway entrance to Compass Rose Lodge (approximately 7430 E 200 S), so as not to block access.
• Residents Huntsville residents are asked to line up and park along the curb behind the Sheriff’s vehicle.
• 11:45 am The American Legion volunteers and presenters convoy will arrive from Eden and line up in the inside lane behind the Sheriff’s vehicle.
• The Sheriff’s deputy will begin the procession. The American Legion convoy will proceed first, followed by residents joining in order.
• The convoy will continue west on 100 South, bypass the toll gate, and proceed into the cemetery.
American Legion Post 129 always puts on a great and patriotic program. We invite all residents to join us as we honor and remember those who have sacrificed so much on our behalf.
That’s all for now. Thanks for being great neighbors and friends.
Respectfully,
Richard L Sorensen Mayor
